Virtue Security recently presented ‘The Art of Mobile Security’ at the April (ISC)² conference in New York City. This covered a wide range of issues that affect the current state of mobile security. These issues included platform security, secure application design, penetration testing, and problems created by carriers. Mobile platforms provide an extraordinarily wide array of features which an even larger set of associated attack vectors. In this presentation we demonstrate how some of these seemingly insignificant functions can have large security implications. As an ethical hacking services provider, it is critical to understand how core platform features work, and how they can impact the security of the application.
